Thank you for a great season!
Our 52nd season has come to an end. The museum will be closed throughout November, except for Friday, November 7, when we’ll be open from 5–8 PM for our First Friday event.
We will reopen for the first three weekends of December only, then remain closed until April 1, 2026.
During the off-season, staff will still be at the museum Monday through Friday. If you need to stop by to make a donation or drop off items, please make an appointment by calling 219-872-6133 or emailing contact@mchistorical.org.
The online store will remain open during the off-season for anyone wishing to purchase items.
Plan your visit.
There’s something for everyone at the Old Lighthouse Museum.
Enjoy the beauty of the museum, which is located close to several amenities in the Michigan City Uptown Arts District.
We are open from April through October 31, 2025, every Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM CT.
Support local history.
Your membership contribution allows the Michigan City Historical Society to continue to tell the story of Hoosiers living on Lake Michigan. Thanks to supporters like you, we are able to continue to operate the Old Lighthouse Museum, conduct research requests, preserve history, and provide educational outreach to over 600 students each year.
Historical Society Members receive free admission to the Old Lighthouse Museum and access to the Historical Society’s library by appointment.
